EMerge Alliance and Current OS Foundation have decided a formal collaboration to make the most of their complementarities.
To achieve the energy transition goals and meet the challenges the world is facing, both bodies agree on a mesh network of advanced DC and hybrid AC/DC microgrids integrated throughout the electric power system infrastructure for improved energy resiliency, surety, safety, reliability, efficiency and environmental compatibility
Current OS Foundation, aiming to develop an ecosystem of manufacturers and standardize the Current OS protocol will welcome Emerge Alliance as a supporter and advisor.
Emerge Alliance, aiming to support the development of DC systems will welcome Current OS Foundation as a liaison member. Emerge Alliance will evaluate and expose the Current OS protocol to its network of OEMs.
According to Brian Patterson, CEO of EMerge Alliance: ”We believe what is needed to realize this vision is a family of standards and guidelines for microgrids to meet the evolving needs of a ‘Grid of Grids’ electric power infrastructure.”
About the EMerge Alliance:
The EMerge Alliance is a non-profit open industry association containing commercial government and academic member organizations developing standards leading to the rapid adoption of hybrid AC/DC microgrids in commercial, industrial and residential buildings, neighborhood and communities. EMerge standards integrate buildings and campus infrastuctures, power, controls and devices in microgrid platforms to facilitate the hybrid use of AC and DC power. The standards facilitate greater energy resiliency and sustainability while maximizing the potential to use of distributed clean and renewable local energy.
